I-SRV

EarthFest

Interfaith EarthFest on April 21, 2024 was a successful demonstration of our shared commitment to our environment and a celebration of appreciation for our planet. As author Robin Wall Kimmerer wrote in her best-selling book Braiding Sweetgrass,

“One of our responsibilities as human people is to find ways to enter into reciprocity with the more-than-human world.  We can do it through gratitude, through ceremony, through land stewardship, science, art and in everyday acts of practical reverence.”

The I-SRV EarthFest organizers would like to add our belief that we enhance our relationship with the more-than-human world through recognizing and celebrating community, in the largest sense of the word. We are so grateful for the participation of our many partners, who provided learning opportunities with information tables, stories of hope, workshops, inspiring performances of dance and song, and earth-inspired art. Many of our partners are excited to join us for our next EarthFest event, May 4, 2025. View our slideshow of event highlights.

We welcomed 400-500 people during the afternoon. The EarthFest event would not exist without the participation of our partners and our communities.

“Land as sustainer.  Land as identity.
Land as grocery store and pharmacy.
Land as connection to our ancestors.
Land as moral obligation.  Land as sacred.  Land as self.”
