We are now accepting 2D and 3D artwork from artists in the greater Bay Area for our EarthFest Exhibit at Peace Lutheran Church!
The exhibit will include more than one artist and works typically hang for 2-3 months. The exhibit may then be moved to another venue–one of the facilities of another member of I-SRV for another 2-3 months. The exhibit opening will be on the day of the EarthFest event, April 21, 2024.
Works should represent a connection to the grandeur of our Earth, with an emphasis on caring for and stewardship of our natural environment.
● All media and styles are accepted, this includes but is not limited to paintings, drawings, sculpture, photography, textiles.
● Within the context of the theme of EarthFest, all creative content and media are acceptable for the EarthFest exhibit at Peace Lutheran Church. ● Works must be complete, stable and dry to the touch. Wet, sticky and unstable works will not be accepted.
● This exhibit is open to the general public.
Submissions are accepted by email.
● Persons wishing to participate in this exhibit should contact Deborah Wechsler [email protected]. Include your contact information.
● We will reply to artists who want to participate about requirements for sending virtual images for initial juried acceptance into the show. Specifications for required virtual images of the artwork, specifications for the artwork itself and a timeline will be included.
● Artists wishing to participate in this exhibit should submit images of the work for consideration to Deborah. Label images as “lastname_firstname_01.jpg” and under 2 MB for each image. Digital images must be JPEG or JPG only.
● We will require all exhibiting artists to sign a complete release of liability and permission to
use images of their work for promotion.
All submissions will be reviewed by the EarthFest Art Committee Chair, Bill Carmel, and the Chair of the EarthFest event, Deborah Wechsler. The Jurors will be in charge of acceptance into the exhibit and selecting the artwork that will be featured in the exhibition displayed in the sanctuary.
Artworks need to be ready to hang in a professional manner.
● If framed, the frame is clean, undamaged and suitable to the artwork and has a wire for hanging on the reverse, or a ‘D’ ring larger than 3/8″. If it is a work on paper, it is protected by plexiglass. All paper or embroidery works will be framed.
● All glazed framed art must use plexiglass. Use eyehooks (or D rings) and woven picture framing wire for hanging.

● Works that don’t require a frame, such as gallery wrapped paintings, will come with a wire on the back, or a ‘D’ ring larger than 3/8″. Other media that are unsuitable for framing, such as wall hangings, will come ready to hang in a manner that does not require extra hardware and can be hung with a rod hanging system.
